AEROSPACE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING
vab feeder replacement
LOCATION
Kennedy Space Center, FL
CLIENT
NASA
COMPLETED
2004
This NASA IDIQ project included the replacement of all the medium voltage cable within the Vehicle Assembly Building and the surrounding area. Within the VAB we replaced over 15 miles of medium voltage cable and in the outlying areas we replaced over 23 miles of cable within the existing underground duct bank system. We performed all splicing, terminations, and testing of the medium voltage system as well as replacing numerous solid dielectric switches and pad mount transformers. Because of the nature of the work within the VAB we developed several wire handling systems along with a cable lowering system to handle the vertical drops in this enormous building.
As pioneers in aerospace electrical contracting, we bring a legacy of innovation, precision, and unwavering commitment to every project we undertake. Click here to learn more about how we can help you take your next electrical project to the next level.
