COMMERCIAL ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING

AEI completed the electrical and low-voltage scope for the Airbus U.S. Space & Defense Phase B Expansion, a ±49,000 SF addition to their cleanroom and high-bay manufacturing campus in Merritt Island, Florida. The expansion added ISO 8 cleanroom areas, production spaces, secure ICD/ICS 705 areas, and support rooms integrated with the existing facility. AEI delivered a full electrical distribution system—including service entrance raceways, gear, panelboards, branch power, cleanroom lighting, grounding, emergency circuits, and lighting controls—along with structured cabling, access control, cameras, intercom systems, fire alarm interfaces, site lighting, EV charging stations, and secured gate controls. All systems were seamlessly integrated with the campus generator plant, UPS equipment, and IT/security infrastructure.

A major component of the project involved installing extensive underground electrical infrastructure for the new Service Building. Working closely with The Haskell Company during the design-refinement phase, AEI coordinated duct banks, structural interfaces, and below-grade routing using detailed BIM modeling to ensure efficient installation without rework. Despite technical constraints, secure-area requirements, and supply-chain challenges affecting equipment lead times, AEI maintained the project schedule and delivered the expansion on time in 2025, strengthening Airbus US’s cleanroom capacity and long-term electrical infrastructure for future mission-critical programs.
